No stable readings on Meter Analyzer

This just arrived and I was looking forward to testing the pool water with it but it didn't show a stable reading. At first it reads normally (6.8 for distilled water), then the number increases to 11.0 within 30 seconds of turning it on.

Pros

Accuracy ±0.05 pH and 3-point calibration: With highly sensitive glass probe RCYAGO pH meter full range 0-14 pH, resolution 0.01 pH. And the pH meter uses a three-point calibration method that calibrates the electrode against pH 4.00, pH 6.86, and pH 9.18 solutions to ensure your measurements are accurate.
