I don't know why they get negative reviews at all. My previous plugs that came with the sink deteriorated in the rubber, the metal parts came loose and fell apart. We couldn't stop the water from seeping in when we filled the sinks with water. I have two for my double sink that I use to wash dishes several times a day; As we don't have a dishwasher. For some reason we couldn't find them anywhere else - not at Home Depot, not at Lowes, not at Walmart. They are of high quality and can easily stop the flow of water and open backwards. Food traps are easy to clean and look nice in the sink.
