Great bearing kit for MakerBeam

This is a pretty good bearing kit for the MakerBeam system. , then the camp. Choose between locknuts for permanent installation or a regular M3 nut for semi-permanent installation. I used regular nuts and when you tighten them they haven't loosened yet. I'll probably replace them with locknuts later when the project is complete. I wouldn't recommend using lock nuts until you've installed them because they really should be disposable. Again, the puck is key. If it didn't separate the bearing from the carrier, the bearing would get stuck. The bearings are not the best and not the worst I've seen. They feel slightly stringy/slow but not sticky. They are marked 633Z and protrude slightly beyond the beam edges. This is enough for the beam to move on a flat surface. I'm hoping to find larger bearings that offer a little more play, but finding a 3mm center hole is difficult. All in all, a worthwhile investment for a MakerBeam user.

Pros
  • MakerBeam bearings allow free linear movement in your design
Cons
  • Legacy model
