Opens from below.

I hate that this case opens at the bottom. I don't usually take my entire case out of my large bag when I want to use my laptop. I just unpack it and take out the computer. This would require me to store it upside down in a pocket on top of the handle. The grip is really cheap vinyl, doesn't even look like leather. Otherwise the size is good and it is very well padded.
