It works to push rivets out of bike chains. .

For knocking out rivets from bicycle chains. I pulled out a dozen or so to make a bike chain toy. If the link is drawn I would suggest putting paper on the side of the link. A limb rubbing against a support piece (I don't know what you call it) will cause the paint to peel. I doubt you can save color on a needle.
