Review on πŸ“‘ Enhance Your Tram CB Radio with the 5In Magnet Mount Antenna – Black (240-B) by Prince Aguirre

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The magnet is large, but not strong enough for even a light antenna.

Details: Bracket is located in the center of the roof of a 2018 Ram 1500 (full steel roof). The antenna is a three foot long, lightweight, small diameter fiberglass Francis tube. I also initially had a six inch Firestick spring between the antenna and the mount. First the positive. The base is very strong, it has already survived the fall from the roof of my van 6 times unscathed. The cord doesn't even hang out, excellent design. Now for the bad. After twice dropping the antenna at 60 mph on a slick freeway, I removed the spring, thinking it was creating too much wind resistance. The antenna then dropped four more times at speeds between 65 and 75 mph, all on a flat freeway with no other vehicles. The saving grace is that I routed the cable right behind the mount behind the cab, so the antenna always lands on the bed covers and stays there until I stop. Lucky he didn't fall off the side and crush a truck or someone else's car or someone's windshield. This vehicle is dangerous and I will be contacting Revain for a refund.

Pros
  • With rubber boot
Cons
  • Requires socket
