Demolished

Tried this base with a 4ft Firestik, easy to install and set up. However, when the antenna hit a low hanging branch, the magnetic base broke off the roof and hit the side of my car. I had a spring between the antenna and the base. It might work better with a more flexible whip, but not as well with a stiffer Firestik.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Not very "sticky ". Blown off the roof of my truck.

For a 5 inch diameter magnet it definitely didn't hold up very well on my truck roof. At 65 mph it ripped off my steel canopy, got hit by a rear wheel and ripped the coax cable out the back of my VHF radio. The antenna was only 24 inches high and fairly light. That mount and antenna are probably still lying by the side of the road near Twin Falls, Idaho, where they'll be most useful.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • I'll write back later

Works with antennas

I use this over my winter racquet (2000 Camry). I have a 2' firestick with quick release. I also took off the protective rubber cover, I don't care, the underground is a little better. After tuning the antenna to a perfect 0 on channel 20, I pulled onto the freeway. Driving at 85 km/h with this setting = no slip. The roof, even a little wet from the snow, I cleaned and dried with a towel as best I could. Sturdy setup, no slipping, gets the job done. What else do you need?

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Repair

Don't forget how big you'll get with this roof.

Well the product itself is fantastic and I got a great signal on the roof of my truck but be aware of the possibility of tree branches. The magnet is strong enough for a 3 foot antenna, but not strong enough when hitting a tree branch at 35-45 mph, which summarizes the magnetic base and rips out the coax. Up to this point everything was going well. Return to a weaker signal. and ordered a bed mount and the next antenna goes much much lower. Recommendation: avoid trees.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Hold it tight - AV accessories

Overall great, as is the rubber tread so it doesn't scratch the paint. However, the electrical connection is made by pressure from a 3/8 24 center screw and nut compressing the coax cable's shield with a plastic gasket to contact the magnetic cover, and the center conductor is sandwiched between the other side of the gasket underneath the Washing machine. and walnut. If this assembly is weakened, the resulting TX or RX will become noisy and the communication virtually useless. It can be pressed

Pros
  • Pl-259 connector
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Great launch bracket

This bracket does the following: Holds the antenna to the vehicle. He does what he has to. Installed on a 2011 Dodge Caliber paired with a Uniden 505 and a 2ft Firestick. 80+ km/h and it doesn't stop. I managed to get an SWR of around 1.1 on all channels - this is mainly due to the radio and antennas, but the mount helps. The mount gave me just enough cable to work with to get it through the hatch and all the way forward with headroom. Overall, I'm happy with this entry-level mount. Maybe in…

Pros
  • Black steel magnet housing
Cons
  • Lightly dented

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The magnet is large, but not strong enough for even a light antenna.

Details: Bracket is located in the center of the roof of a 2018 Ram 1500 (full steel roof). The antenna is a three foot long, lightweight, small diameter fiberglass Francis tube. I also initially had a six inch Firestick spring between the antenna and the mount. First the positive. The base is very strong, it has already survived the fall from the roof of my van 6 times unscathed. The cord doesn't even hang out, excellent design. Now for the bad. After twice dropping the antenna at 60 mph on a…

Pros
  • With rubber boot
Cons
  • Requires socket
