I'm new to the grilling world and made my first attempts simply by counting the minutes. It's been hit or missed, burned through a few times or soaked slightly, so it's time to get a meat thermometer. This thermometer works relatively well. Taking the temperature is easy, just press the "Hold" button to record and then press it again to return to normal mode. There is also a min/max function. If you long press (3 seconds +) the "Hold" button, the word "Max" will appear. From now on the thermometer shows the maximum measured temperature. In this mode, if you continue to put it in the meat, it will continue to measure and as the temperature gets higher, it will update. Then press "Hold" again to see the low. Happened to me that after getting the "Max" value, I wanted to reset it to test other meats. But it stayed at the previous value. In this case, holding down "Hold” while the word "Max” is still on the screen will clear the memory and start the measurement again. Otherwise I had no problems with the thermometer and the readings are quick. It has a magnet so I can keep it next to the fridge, a bottle opener on the side, and uses a button cell battery (the seller is kind enough to include a spare battery). Overall quite comfortable and definitely an improvement on my grill!
