Got this for the VW Thing. With its mounting on the bottom of the windshield when the wiper is parked on the left and not turned to the right and horizontal. I swapped the cables in the motor. The motor rotates in the opposite direction but continues to park in the same direction. The gearbox has not yet been checked to see if anything needs to be changed. The motor is mounted behind the windshield on the driver's side, with the shaft facing forward. Link to left and right view from driver's seat. I assume all boat wipers are mounted above the windshield? I saw no mention of which direction either of them would park. Edit: Disassembled and modified to park on the right. The shaft holding the park switch cam is pressed into the gear. There is only one area on the shaft to synchronize the parking cam on the left side. I pushed the shaft out and rotated it 180 degrees. I cannot recommend this solution. I got through the return window just fine, so why not? There are other engines that specifically mention parking direction, and some are advertised as being able to park in either direction.
