As everyone rightly says, the wires are a bit short. On my particular laptop, the wires were attached to the wrong side of the antenna. Luckily I was able to separate the two wires, cut the connection from the black wire and attach the new connection to the old wire. Since the wires are 22AWG, they were easy to cut, strip, and rejoin. In general, my laptop was repaired in 1.5 hours from the fact that I did not know anything about opening the laptop and ended up with a soldier's work.
