For good money!

So let's remember that you're paying for a hamburger for a product, not a steak for dinner. It will still fill you up and keep you from getting hungry, but it's not in fashion and doesn't have all the adjustments. For the price it's worth it! For the entry-level brewer/distiller, this is ideal. Honestly, those are about the same prices as building your own, but probably safer. Pros 1) Good construction, no dents, missing parts or manufacturing. Oops 2) All in one! I've heard some hate for the idea of fermenting in your alembic, but I've tried it and it seems ok. Just don't get too hot while distilling. But for hygiene, if everything is in one pot and stays there, it's good. 3) All compression fittings! So I think it's good that we don't have to worry about solvents and solder. If something isn't soldered correctly, I can also fix it with a wrench, not a blowtorch. Con1) Doesn't work with induction! Easy to attach with a steel plate, but that's another step that makes it less effective. 2) The condenser is on the machine! So yes, this design has heating/cooling issues. Think outside the box and tip the condenser to the side and place something underneath for support. BOOM problem solved thanks to compression fittings! 3) Throw away the trash! Throw away the airlock, it's junk, and buy a new one. While you're at it, ditch the photocopied instructions and how to distill barley and hops on YouTube. Throw away the hoses and buy new food hoses (just the ones that come with the kit, I'm guessing).

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • It's okay
