I have a love-hate relationship with Ninja products - I love them very much. But I really don't like the guarantee. And I hate longevity. When they're done, they're done. I've had several Ninja blenders that outperform my 30 year old Easter Hive in terms of chopping and blending performance, but they have an expected lifespan of about five years. This was a very important consideration when buying a $200 coffee maker. I'm not a coffee connoisseur - I usually drink a cup a day - very strong, just with cream. But it has to be the perfect cup. I want to enjoy every sip. I found a brand new Ninja coffee system at a local thrift store for $15. The coffee was amazing. Perfect every time. When my son moved into his house, I gave it to him and started looking for it myself. Now that I'm the only coffee drinker in the house (no, I'm not crying because he's gone, don't be silly), I thought of Kerig. But to be honest I don't like the coffee quality of these machines - I've tried several but didn't like it at all. However, the amount of wasted coffee I was dealing with really started to bother me, and I decided I needed a one-cup option. This car is really perfect. The one cup variation, which I went for because it's a K cup variation, turned out to be amazing. I think this is because the Ninja makes three holes in the K-Cup and not the standard hole other machines use? It may also be that the water temperature is getting too hot. I don't know, but I really appreciate the depth of flavor of the K-Cup option on this machine. Another neat option that I never thought I would need is a blower. That seems silly to me, but a comment on the Ninja manual said that a cold cup of cream takes heat out of the coffee and changes the taste, so I messed around with the frother, microwaved it for 30 seconds, then blended the coffee. and the cream is fantastic. I had a fever this week and preferred tea to coffee - I remembered the hot water option on this machine - it gave me two options - hot water and boil - I chose boil and my tea was brewed in water. time at ideal temperature. I really appreciate that the water goes through a separate dispenser so my tea didn't have any coffee residue, discoloration or flavor. Now I'm planning to ditch my stand alone boiler. The Ninja's tank is enough for my one cup a day - it's very easy to detach and refill or even refill on the spot - I prefer the side version but can be mounted on the back to save space. I don't think it will make much of a difference because this machine is very large - it doesn't fit under my standard cupboards. I wouldn't have spent that much money on myself - but I was sorry. I'm very glad I did as the cost is worth it. I really hope this machine lasts longer than I expected, 5 years. Since I don't buy coffee every day, I can't say I've saved any money - I mean, I've saved by not making half the pots just for myself and spending the majority. - but if I were a coffee shop customer I would definitely think I would be saving money with the nozzle and the coffee quality - this is a really great machine and I highly recommend you buy it. I had a fight between the Keurig Duo Pro and this machine and given the quality of the coffee in this machine's K cup, I've never regretted it - I don't think Keurig could make the same quality cup out of the K cups. Enjoy
