SHIT!, following the instructions exactly, was told to remove both sides of the foil, although it only came from one side of the foil, the thing was scratched in a few places, the "clear" piece of plastic was slightly milky (translucent), I fully inserted it into the base, only about 1/4 of it was brighter than the rest at the bottom of the dimly lit acrylic design element, and no 3D effect in the room, completely dark (the effect is like being straight from a LED flashlight lit) in this (2D) it looked the same as with no basic lighting except for the color. If this product works at all for other people, I'm pretty sure I got one that skipped factory quality control. WTF! I bet this is a common problem for buyers of this thing. Unfortunately the photo I provided doesn't really show how crappy it is. My iPhone actually did boost the glow effect a bit so it's a lot softer than the picture shows, in fact it looks better in the photo than in person but still nothing as advertised and certainly not 3D. stay away
