Thanks to new technologies, many laptops don't have serial ports. It works perfectly! My work laptop is a 7390 2-in-1. Our security policy disables access to the USB port, but with this item there is no need to elevate my administrator privileges. Because even as an administrator, I have to elevate my privileges and disable the security protocols required to access USB ports. I have used this item 3 times with no problems. I plug it in, my operating system (windows 10) recognizes it as serial port 5, 100% putty compatible. The quality isn't cheap, nor does it have that cheap Chinese quality. Buy recommendation, 100%
