For the first few weeks I was afraid of this spruce because it's glass and I was afraid of breaking it. But I haven't done it yet. Heats water quickly. I like it. The LED lets me know when it's on and when it's done. I like that the jug can be removed from the base. It gives me such relief and accessibility. I can just pick it up and carry it to the living room to pour hot water into everyone's cups without dragging the cord behind me and pouring water into the kitchen and carrying a tray of heavy hot cups from room to room. I don't usually go back to get water, but after a while I realize the water was still warm, so although glassy it holds the heat pretty well. I really like one of them. I wish I had received it sooner. It also helps with cooking because I can pan fry something that needs hot water and the water will get hot just as fast as I'm cooking. Much quicker than my metal kettle on the stove. Instant ramen is even more immediate. Sous vide works faster when the water is already hot, and it only takes a few minutes to add more hot water. Now I haven't had it so long that I need to clean it more than rinse it. The lid opens quite wide, but I would have liked it to open wider. There is a small metal mesh on the neck. I don't know what it is for. I think someone could make tea in it. I don't plan on pouring anything other than water in it, so this is a little confusing to me. Overall I'm happy with it.
