This solar panel is so easy to set up, no extra controllers or anything! I got it out of the box and on the roof (trunk) of my Westfalen in less than 10 minutes. My AGM* battery went from 9V to 12V in less than an hour. The next charge level (up to the maximum and when the red flashing light on the solar panel goes out) takes a little longer, about another 2 hours. Suffice it to say it does what it's supposed to do - charge the AGM battery while you camp off the grid.* Why AGM? This battery is rated at 21Ah and powers the Propex heater. It is also an additional power supply for two USB fast charging ports, suitable for charging various devices. The solar panel can now be neatly stowed away in a protective cover, either under the back seat, in a closet or in the trunk. To keep the solar panel in place while charging, I installed neodymium magnets in the trunk. The solar panel has metal legs that fit snugly against the roof, but at the same time can be placed elsewhere if circumstances require.
