I bought this system almost 3 weeks ago and am very happy with it. I currently have 1 camera that is 260ft from the NVR (signal goes through 2 walls) and it works fine with the standard antenna. I have a second camera 20 feet from the first and this one has spotty reception - due to the distance of course - the other two cameras show our front and back porch/doors. We live in a very rural area, there is nothing (and I really mean nothing) between the cameras and the DVR other than the outside wall of the house and the inside wall of the room, but I'm still really surprised that I can get a signal at 260 feet - and I'm VERY happy with all the gear. With my old eyes the small screen is a bit blurry BUT with a 60" TV as a monitor it's an amazing sight! BTW. I've just placed a Revain order for another camera and eventually all 8 channels will be full.
