I didn't want to install the D-Link software that came with the wireless adapter because I knew Windows 7 would install the drivers for me. Not correct. Windows 7 installed the drivers after I plugged in the adapter, but I couldn't connect to my wireless networks (I have 2 of them, an N and a G with a D-Link 825 router). So this is a D-Link adapter trying to connect to a D-Link router. The wireless networks show up in Windows 7, but I still get the message that I can't connect. So I finally installed the D-Link software and am using it to connect successfully. Is there something the D-Link connection software uses that Windows 7 doesn't know about? Anyway, I used the adapter with no problems. I only get 3 bars which I think is good for 802.11N when the router is up and my computer is down. There weren't any crashes or compatibility issues with 64-bit Windows 7. I really don't like installing additional software that I don't use when Windows can run the device just as well, so I was worried about the D-Link -Must install software. I don't see that as a bad thing as long as this adapter works well.
