I was running a specific strength program the required me to squat 3x a week and to increase my squat load by 5lbs each time I squatted. So that's a 15lb increase each week. It was getting tough so I invested in microplates so I could still increase the load, but in smaller increments. Instead of adding 15lbs a week to my squat, I'm adding anywhere from 7-14lbs a week which is still increasing my strength but at a more reasonable pace. These things are great
