I bought these for my two dogs to protect them from the larger dog in our house. As long as we're busy babysitting if needed, I'm happy to let everyone hang out in the living room with us. Our Great Dane loves to play with our smallest dog and pull his collar. This prevents him from doing so and they can still play and enjoy each other's company. I put another collar on our older boxer to protect him from the Dane. It worked well. These collars are strong, the skin is thick and can withstand active farm dogs. The only scam I've found so far is that you get a decent scrape when the tines hit your bare foot. You are hurt!
