The glass surface has a coating similar to the adhesion you get from straight tempered glass with 3D printing hairspray, not hairspray. The downside here is that the adhesion to the original Ender surface is so tacky that you need to be a little more careful when using it when printing on freestanding materials as they tend to snag and pull. Not often, but more often than the original. For things that have a decent base and will benefit (or not) from an almost smooth base, this is a great upgrade over the original. One thing I would like to point out is that this seems like a nice little update to the original aluminum base. the surface of the print as it appears to align if there is a slight deformation there. Even if the glass eventually wears out, I can put the original finish replacement, albeit just the rear one, on it and use it because of the upgrade to the alignment. With it installed, you don't need to level the print platform nearly as often - at least that's my experience. Update in 30 days: move 1 star. The surface wears out quite quickly and after prolonged printing the adhesive effect wears off and begins to peel off. While it worked effectively for a while, it's now become a rather expensive piece of glass that I just flipped over and used the regular side. It also confuses the logos with a perfectly smooth surface, so you get (for example) a good "A" from the Creality logo on the prints that would normally provide a great smooth surface. If it wore better and didn't have logos in the middle, it would be a much better product. Summary/TLDR: Great for a while, then an expensive piece of glass. Useful?
