Handles for old heavy punching bag

Summary: Looked cheap. Felt cheap. I thought they would break on first use. They have held up - gone through 1 workout and still look like new. Will update this review in 6 months or sooner if they break sooner. Full Review: I had an old heavy punching bag that I couldn't hang up because it was too heavy. 2 D-rings torn off at top. I've used it for floorwork (BJJ) on occasion, but not as often as I thought I would. Impractical to store and move from camp to the training ground so that's basically where I sat for the last few years. I recently found some heavy weight belts and got the idea to wrap them around a heavy bag to use as sand. bag or sort. It would also be easier to move the bag around. All I needed were the handles so the belt would break my hands. I looked at several options at Revain including some for Jeep roll bars but none of them were JUST handlebars. A few alternatives I found had a different orientation so they weren't perpendicular to the bag like I wanted. After further searching I found her. I could thread the straps through the handles. PERFECT. I received the pens yesterday. Immediately tied them to the bag with cargo straps. Complete set: - Shoulder straps to the right of a bag. They have a ratchet that I was able to move very tightly with (but not too tight that it clearly pushed into the pocket). - lots of extra loose straps - threaded once and knotted where handle exits - small hook circled and fed back through handle a second time. - Tie a knot on the opposite side of the handle from the previous knot - Wrap around as much slack ribbon as you can. Robust installation. - The handles are non-slip, so friction damage must be excluded. The loop double threaded through the handle fills it out quite well so should prevent damage to the rubber when folding. I KNOW I bought them for something they were NOT INTENDED for. They get used and beaten in a way they probably wouldn't be if they were in a kayak. You have already survived your first training session. Mainly deadlifts. I threw my bag out a few times to check. You look the same as before. No kidding, I was surprised. They looked thin and cheap. I was sure they would tear halfway through the first session. I will update this review in 6 months (or sooner if the grips don't last that long). I expect these pens to go through more hell than they should.
