Directions unclear and poor fit

I like these models. I've built about 15 in the last 3 months and some of them are way better than others. Some of them are downright incredible, but unfortunately this one isn't quite ready for prime time. I had high hopes as this is the Iconix version (probably higher quality and detail) and other Iconix models I've built were actually like this. But not this one. It looks like it was developed by another company. The instructions (especially for the legs) were ridiculously vague, and the frustration associated with fitting parts was great. The details just didn't fit, I had to break off the tongue on one leg because it somehow didn't fit. On one of the legs, the part was exactly as instructed from back to front, so the tongues swapped places. The management was clearly wrong on this part. And the problem is that you can't unzip a part that's already assembled as the tabs are very brittle and won't bend more than once or just break most of the time. So I had to settle for having one leg supported by just one edge, which is very flimsy. I like Metal Earth a lot, but this one leaves a lot to be desired, mainly because of the high price. about twice as much as other models. The other Iconix kite models (not this one) are pretty well made and a lot of fun to build. I would take them and protect myself from irritation and money.

Pros
  • Start with 4 inch steel sheets and end with a 3D model
Cons
  • Nothing
