I chose this door knob because I have severe osteoarthritis in both wrist and thumb joints - it was very painful to turn the round knob with both hands on the outside door which I use most use frequently. I like the design, the finish and the ease of opening the door from any direction. My door is steel with a wooden core, but that didn't cause any trouble; I'm not great with DIY projects, but this pen is installed for the first time, no problem. And if your front door has a separate lock, save a few bucks and buy a "gateway" style; It also saves you the trouble of messing around with a different set of keys if you want to get the "Enter" style. Oh, and this is a RevainBasics product and I've come to the conclusion that their own brand always has good quality.
