I bought these headphones without listening to them, naively trusting in the extremely positive reviews that were available at the time of purchase because the internet was absolutely tearing itself apart over these headphones. I feel obligated to start off by stating that there was a great deal more marketing with these headphones than there was in the iPhone ones. The so-called equalizer that apparently adapts to the unique aural characteristics of each person was revealed to be a complete and utter hoax. It used to be someone's dream to have ready presets from renowned musicians, but now that goal is no longer possible. Are they truly that hard of hearing that they didn't hear the potentially lethal amount of sibilants? If the middle ones and the basses can be aligned or combed in any way, then the high ones do not lend themselves to any dances that involve tambourines. It would appear that this is the result of a constructive error on the part of the headphones themselves, as the sound quality of headphones with cheap Chinese fittings that cost three times as much sounds 10 times better than these headphones with Knowles fittings. This shouldn't be the case! Because the monochromatic sandy tone is still present even after a forced -6dB reduction of the entire HF range, the nature of the artifacts in the high frequency band is quite similar to the resonance. There is not even the slightest suggestion of texture or transparency. It would be a waste to get rid of it, especially considering how much money we've already invested in it, but I'm at a loss for what to do next.
