My 2 dogs have been using this water bowl for a week and got the hang of it quickly. I did what another reviewer recommended and kept their regular water dish next to it just the first time they used it. The water definitely stays cleaner for the most part. There is definitely much less water dripping off their chins. I was worried that one of the dogs would realize he could put his paw in it and play, but he hasn’t so far! I love that I no longer have to refill the water multiple times a day. I didn’t struggle with removing the filter. I used an old butter knife that is bent up at the edge and was able to easily remove it. I purchased replacement filters so I can change them out every 3 months or if ever the one that’s provided gets damaged.
