Update November 26th: I am very disappointed with what happened to my device. In preparation for Zoom over Thanksgiving, we set this guy up with my camera and MacBook Pro the day before. We turned off my camera and put the MBP to sleep mode. Somehow it still used power all day and we didn't even realize it until Thanksgiving morning when we prepared to use it. As you can see from the photos, the back melted and was almost hot to the touch. I am very disappointed in this product. Eventually, work meetings were moved online due to COVID. My work laptop has a built-in webcam, but of course the quality is very poor. I find that using video during virtual meetings greatly increases attendee participation and the overall quality of the meeting. It took almost no time to set up, just plug and play. Microsoft Teams, Webex and the native camera app recognized the device without any problems. This HDMI video capture with my Sony A7iii camera allows me to get amazing video quality for my virtual meetings. All my colleagues love it.
