2 cable models? One over the other?

Photos show 2 different cables. Maybe there are 2 different models? Not sure! I have a thinner cable that makes the ferrite core look thinner and there is no cable retention on the mini camera connector like there is on a computer USB connector (see photo). The connector has significant slack if you don't support the cable where the ferrite pulls the cable to ground (see other photo). I think the other cable pictured is a better model as it appears to be thicker and supports the connectors on both ends. If the ferrite is a little further down, the play in the plug is reduced. However, the cable is 6 feet long, which is longer than most. For me, longer is better. My main use is to bind my Nikon D750 to the LightRoom software. Transfer rates for both NEF RAW files and medium-sized JPG files are very fast because Nikon records directly to the computer, bypassing the camera's SD cards. Ball head base on my tripod. The slack in the cable creates an arc that reduces the overall stress in the cable. Without them I risk damaging the connector in my camera.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
