The spikes themselves went into the ground very easily although I used two of them hit rocks. They just turned right around the rocks with a few extra turns. The straps are also easy to install, but I'm more concerned about the clasp and strap being able to withstand high winds than the protruding lugs. The wind was 30mph and the trampoline didn't move, we have to wait and see if it can withstand the strong wind now. Total = buy. Great price and you can always swap out the straps with rope/chain for a heavier solution if needed.
