NO PRIMARY HEAT SOURCE
I keep a young python in a 20 gallon terrarium and ordered a rug to match. It's worth it for what it is. He didn't overheat. But that can only be because it works via the thermostat. Without glue; which is actually positive. Removal is easy and messy when cleaning the case. I can highly recommend FOIL TAPE as an adhesive. It is heat resistant and clean. This mat will most likely only raise the "warming side" of your animals by a few degrees. You need another heat source, maybe an overhead heater or a lamp. However, it is a good source of "stomach warmth". ALWAYS CONTROL this mat or any UTH with a THERMOSTAT to avoid injury or worse to your pet. Overall a good product so far.
