These do what they promise. you will measure. However, they are EXTREMELY loose. You need to hold the slider with your thumb or forefinger and read the measurement while holding it against what you are measuring. As soon as you move them the least; the measurement is lost. But since there are 5 of them; the price is $2 each. I bought them to do very quick measurements on clocks, scale model parts etc. They are OK for that kind of thing. And; If you lose one, you have 4 more. But for something precise or to have repeatability; look elsewhere
