These pads are very thick and soft. If you have one of the FLAdorepet soft houses, like the strawberry house, the medium size works as a spare pillow, which is why I bought it. What a relief to have multiple pads so I don't wash them every day. Guinea pigs are NOT neat. The pads are an inch longer in one dimension, but that's not a problem. In fact, it's probably better to make sure the pig doesn't create a gap by rearranging things. These pads are three times thicker than the pads that come with the cages (and they were quite thick) so we didn't need a towel underneath for extra insulation from the cold tiled floor. They are reversible, with soft fleece on both sides. I changed the liners on both cages, and it took Charlie five minutes to eat one and start napping. I haven't washed them yet. I'll update this review when I do, but I expect them to clean up every detail as well as the cells themselves. Shipping took a few weeks as they arrived from China but it was worth the wait. Charlie is a happy pig and I continue to be impressed with the products and services offered by this company. ***After Wash*** - I have five of these pads and each has been washed at least twice. . The only issue I have is the padding on one side of one of the pads. It's gotten a little thin. But I've found I can get the padding back into the thin area, so it's fine. *** Two years later *** - I still use all five pads. I couldn't count the number of times they've been washed. They still come out as clean as the day I received them. Sometimes the padding thins a little on one side, but never goes away entirely. Even the thinner side is still an inch thick, and other than being down filled, I don't think there's anything better (or even worse) on the market. FWIW, I don't mess around with these pads in tricky conditions. They go through a full wash cycle in hot mode.
