Baby it's getting cold outside

I bought this heater to supplement the heat in the back room of my 3 bedroom apartment as the only other source of heat is up front where you first enter. It helps in the back room if the door stays shut, but I didn't realize there was no thermostat or timer on the heater. It would be nice to maybe heat up the bathroom before bathing, but not as an addition to a room that really needs to be heated. Also, it gets hot, which scares me a little.
