We have a lightweight "Tunnel" that used to have an open grill for air conditioning in the attic. When you live in the hot south of Texas, you don't want a big open space in your attic. A few years ago we had a bathroom renovated with a skylight. The contractor sealed the entire area with drywall, leaving a small panel cover for the AC technician to access the AC switches if needed. Well, we had an air problem a few weeks ago, and you know what? The technician needed access to the entire side of the air handling unit - a nice big cut in the nicely finished drywall. I studied his Revain panel and was happy to find the perfect size for the job. The ceiling and light tunnel are painted white so it went well together. I don't know how well it will hold paint if you paint it (smooth plastic) so I recommend leaving it white regardless of location or wall color. The panel comes with no instructions (not that they're really necessary), but I'll tell you how to install it: 1) Remove the panels (there are two of them on the inside of the frame) 2) Attach the frame on the inside of the wall where we want to install the panel and trace the inside with a pencil. Don't worry about stud placement, the frame is not deep enough to cut into the wall studs. 3) Cut the drywall with a utility knife. 4) Once you have an accurate fit (you will need to shave drywall here and there after you cut the pencil outline), apply a thick coat of sealant around the back of the frame. 5) Insert the frame and squeeze around the perimeter, creating a good seal of sealant. The sealer not only forms a seal but also helps the frame stick to the wall after it dries. 6) Snap the two cover plates into place.
