Good access panel: Electric

Just what I needed to have access to running water in the shower. Saves me from repeatedly crashing into drywall and not fixing the drywall. (The woman found this acceptable, it is a real test.)

The product is not as advertised. Cheap quality.

This product has 2 doors not 1. I have used many different sizes of access panels and this is by far the cheapest quality I have used and definitely not worth the price.

100% clean trash works best for electrical boxes, wiring and fixtures

This is absolute trash. Arrived broken, and if not then after the first attempt to open it. I will be returning this scrap so be careful buyer you will probably get mine. Once I get it back I will have the pleasure of waiting a month for a refund.

Fragile for a blanket, great for a wall

Some reviewers have used the word durable to describe this product, but that's not the word I would use. If you are familiar with this type of product, imagine a regular 14x14 double length version of this product - it can't be that rigid. The frame is the same weight and type of material, so it's pretty stiff in the smaller versions, but pretty flexible at this size. You also don't get one door/lid - you get two lids that fit side by side. It's not obvious at all in the picture and in my…

Works great for electrical boxes, wiring and fittings

I couldn't find a metal door to access the wall project I had and that was all that fit. I was careful with the plastic top but it turned out to work great. On the advice of another reviewer, I simply used a small dab of caulk/adhesive and attached it directly to the wall. It holds up well and the two halves of the panel snap together easily. If you can't find a metal access panel this size for your project, give it a try. It's not airtight but will work for many things.

It worked. in Electrical

I bought the largest size available to fit a gaping hole above the pantry ceiling left by a plumber. The only reason it didn't fit perfectly was that I used a shortcut to install. According to the instructions, I had to cut grooves in the rafters to increase the gap for the board. The interference fit between the outer panel and the rafters was just enough to prevent the inner panel from snapping. It stays in place under gravity and has a small gap. I only downgraded to four stars because the…

Big hole - small problem!

We have a lightweight "Tunnel" that used to have an open grill for air conditioning in the attic. When you live in the hot south of Texas, you don't want a big open space in your attic. A few years ago we had a bathroom renovated with a skylight. The contractor sealed the entire area with drywall, leaving a small panel cover for the AC technician to access the AC switches if needed. Well, we had an air problem a few weeks ago, and you know what? The technician needed access to the entire side…
