Review on 🔥 Spectre Performance 9833: Enhance Performance with the 3" Inline Air Box by Matthew Evans

I bought mine to replace a JetStream Systems PRM filter with a cracked flange that I've had for over I've been using it for 10 years but JetStream seems to have gotten out of hand, I had to take another block. In terms of flow, this filter works perfectly, I did not notice any restrictions with my 1.6 compressor up to the red area. There is another review here that notes some degradation of the filter media itself, so I'll keep an eye on that. This filter works great especially for the price with a few notes: 1) The filter comes assembled with a cone filter inside which is still boxed. its protective plastic, which of course I discovered the hard way. If you've read a few reviews here, especially the one where this filter was killing the engine at idle, then they didn't remove the plastic from the filter inside before installing it on their car. 2). There are burrs on the edges of the band clips that can hurt you badly until you bleed. What the hell happened in the garage? my children asked when they saw the ground. 3) When installing a replacement filter, the edges of the aluminum housing are bent slightly inwards where they were separated from the main pipe with a tubular cutting disk during manufacture. That rounded edge interferes with the easy installation of Spectre's own replacement air filter, which looks like it was made by a different supplier than the one that came with the case. I smoothed out this rounded edge by laying the edge of the filter on a cotton cloth over a vice and then sanding that edge with a small ball-faced hammer. The replacement filter is then easily inserted and my unprofessional stripping work is closed with a clip that holds everything together. A good device and because of the aluminum body it will be in my car for life.
