🔥 Spectre Performance 9833: Enhance Performance with the 3" Inline Air Box Review

This is perfect what I wanted. Reduces engine intake temperature compared to an open element. The filter is smaller compared to open element filters but does not affect engine performance (200hp engine). Overall 10/10

I designed an air intake around this filter and am incredibly disappointed. Performance was good but after less than 3000 miles the filter falls apart. Cleaned and lubricated as instructed with the Specter kit. A replacement filter is $30, now I either have to rebuild the air intake or change an expensive filter every few months.

Installed in my Suburban 87 with 6.5 liter turbo diesel and runs perfectly. Added rain sock material on the airbox filter inlet because I installed it through the front core support and had free access to clean air. No deterioration of the filter filter was observed like the others, but not for 3 months. Will update if I see filter degradation.

I really liked the function and look of my Nissan Altima. Made my car maintain a constant intake temperature and produce an amazing sound for my 2.5 liter engine. After installing and testing, I noticed that my idle is terrible and I can't maintain constant airflow. This filter restricted my airflow into the car and was very very poor at idle, but at speed it was amazing to have direct airflow straight into the engine.

I ordered a spacer from Japan and they sent it to me for the supercharged model. I would have sent it back but they wanted about $60 shipping! so I got it working by removing the shock air box. As you can see I only have 3 1/2 inches to work with so I had very few options. To make matters worse, my engine cover is vented, so rain hits the air filter directly. I used this inline air cleaner as part of my XJ Cherokee snorkel kit. The filter is just small enough to fit under the hood with an aftermarket silicone elbow at a 90 degree angle from the throttle body. The 3 inch hole size was perfect for the snorkel kit. Airflow through the filter in cubic feet per minute is much higher than a standard filter so the motor should breathe better even with the extra snorkel length. I bought mine to replace a JetStream Systems PRM filter with a cracked flange that I've had for over I've been using it for 10 years but JetStream seems to have gotten out of hand, I had to take another block. In terms of flow, this filter works perfectly, I did not notice any restrictions with my 1.6 compressor up to the red area. There is another review here that notes some degradation of the filter media itself, so I'll keep an eye on that. This filter works great especially for the price…
