Review on Amcrest Nightvision Microphone Separately IP5M T1273EW AI by Will Ridpath

I needed a new camera to replace a very old camera I was using to monitor the facade of my house. The old camera was also an Amcrest, but with a much lower resolution, it survived several seasons of terrible cold and has stood the test of time well. I've never tried a tower like this and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it*. The camera was easy to install. It would be nice if the installation guide was included in the package instead of just linking to the website. The instructions were short and simple and only a page or two could have been added to the manual, but the instructions were available online. * Night IR is very strange in that it acts like a spotlight. It's not necessarily bad, but it was unexpected. This means that this camera cannot be used in a hidden location where you would expect the camera to be less visible. This needs to be clearly stated in the product description so customers are aware of this behavior prior to purchase. I like the quality of the night video and the fact that it's in color, but I would like to know that it will act as a small spotlight. It actually works where I installed it, so ultimately it's not a complaint, just something I wish I knew up front. I hope my review helps make this clearer.* The image resolution is fantastic and it's very helpful that the captured images and videos are available in very high resolution.* The people/vehicle detection functions worked perfectly for me.
