Review on 🚴 Experience Easy Navigation with Garmin Edge 130, a Compact GPS Cycling Computer by David Banks

Do not buy this product (Garmin Edge 130)

I bought a Garmin 130 GPS bike computer from Revain on 06/14/19. ($199.99) . When I was on a trip on 08/26/19 it froze completely and the time, distance and speed of the trip I was on was still visible on the screen. I couldn't reset it or enter any other information or even turn off the power. It was completely frozen. Just two and a half months have passed since the purchase. Revain warranty expired on 7/15/19. I contacted Revain support the same day. (via online chat with "Jeffrey"). after returning from my trip to see if they can give me some insight on the issue and how to fix it or get it working again. The Revain rep "Jeffrey" went out of his way to help me but was ultimately unable to resolve the issue. He told me that he would contact Garmin's technical staff and they would call me directly to see if they could help me. The Revain representative "Jeffrey" also assured me that he would contact me the next day to see if Garmin had actually contacted me and if they were helpful. That's all he could do. A Garmin representative called me this morning (08/27/19). What a complete and utter waste of time it was. He was useless! I couldn't hear him on the phone because he was so quiet. I told him several times that I couldn't hear him. then he did something that enabled me to understand him a little better, but he spoke so fast that I couldn't make out anything he said. I told him several times to repeat that he was speaking too fast and not loud enough or clearly enough. His answer? He dropped the phone on me! Yes. He hung up and didn't even say "goodbye"! What an idiot! Let me warn you, if my experience with Garmin tech support is the normal way of working, I assure you they absolutely will not help! So don't wait. Not only that, they are rude! There are other products out there and for me personally this experience with Garmin definitely convinced me to look elsewhere for future purchases. The upside of all this was that "Jeffrey," the Revain speaker, was right. his word and he called me back to see if I could get help from Garmin. I told "Geoffrey" the whole story and he expressed his regret at what had happened. He asked me to wait a few minutes and when he came back "Jeffrey" informed me that Revain would send me a new Garmin Edge 130 (although Revain's warranty had expired). and that I should send them back my old frozen one. Result. Revane and "Geoffrey" got the job done and provided a really excellent service even when it wasn't necessary. I really appreciated it. As for Garmin, definitely their tech support. In my opinion, that is a great disgrace! So keep that in mind the next time you're looking for a GPS or any other Garmin product. There are other options and I encourage you to explore them. I know exactly what I want. 9/16/19: UPDATE. As I mentioned in a previous review. I received the new Edge 130 from Revain to replace the previously paid Edge 130. one that lasted less than 3 months. I returned an old Edge 130 after receiving a new replacement from Revain. My new Edge 130 replacement has stopped working. THAT'S LESS THAN A MONTH! . YESTERDAY IT WENT ON MY BIKE RIDE AND JUST LIKE THE FIRST! I won't be going back and asking Revain to replace it, but I will ask for a refund of the $199.95 I paid for it. Again. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT. EDGE 130 FOR FREE AND YOU WILL LOSE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
