As noted by other reviews the plastic teeth on the gear wear over time - mine just wear out after 8 months of continuous use on my Oceanic BioCube 29 with the original Oceanic pump ( rated 243 gph if I remember correctly). Stuck several times by various debris stuck between the inner teeth and once by a slug stuck between a rotating deflector and a rock. Every 3 or 4 weeks I take it apart and clean it by soaking it in vinegar to remove the coral and remove any debris from my teeth. It does a great job of changing the flow in a fairly inexpensive way, great. for growing healthy corals in a small aquarium. Would I buy more? I'd be happier if it didn't wear out, but yes, for $13 (and free shipping as part of my basic Amazon membership) I'll buy another to replace it.
