This product would be worth 5* if it had a magnet that actually held the weight of the item. Also, the magnet is stuck and doesn't match the surfaces. So when you attach it to a surface, it starts to tilt about 2 degrees. Basically a useless product. I'm sure the unit I received was defective in the way the magnet was stuck in place and I was able to replace it, but that wouldn't fix the problem of the magnet not being strong enough, to keep it in place. So I just send it back and keep looking for something usable. So far I haven't found a protractor worth buying. Apart from the super lousy magnet, the two measuring surfaces don't even match. they deviate by about 3 degrees. That might not be a big deal for an item that only costs around $15, but I really expected more from a reputable company like Starrett. Unfortunately, I think they've become nothing more than a junk company that outsources production like so many others lately.
