The first few times your cat will enjoy walking in them, but I really love these things when I take them out to inspect my apartment. They feel sturdy and if the cat doesn't need to be surprised, don't worry you'll suffocate them if you pull on the leash! My cats weigh less than 10 pounds and I feel like the harness clips have been pushed apart and pulled back more. Dude, I could easily pick her up with this harness. Strong enough that I can trust it, but soft enough to be comfortable for your pet. They love to grind on the floor/concrete and the harness doesn't seem to mind. maybe just a second belly clip for bigger or heavier cats to make sure they are secure. It's best to let them wear it for short blocks of time to get used to the feel and comfort. After a few weeks my cats stopped being funny and they seem to be comfortable enough in it that I can leave them in it after walks and they don't mind.
