Review on Makita GA4542C SJSII Power Grinder by Vincent Pavelko

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Overall good with a few drawbacks.

The most positive aspect of this grinder is the lack of vibration. The world as a whole. The most negative aspect of this Makita is the air intakes on the side of the tool, right where the hand would be. These side air intakes allow dirt and debris from hands and gloves to easily enter the grinder. These inlets are very strong. Obviously, this dirt pickup can lead to premature engine failure. Anyone who has ever welded or been around welders knows that their hands, or usually gloves, pick up a large amount of oily dirt from the metals they are welding. Dirt entering the tool motor directly is not acceptable. The performance aspect is ok, but not as strong as comparable Metabos. to the motor, which means that the gearbox can wear out prematurely compared to comparable Metabo gearboxes. Also, the Makita will be overloaded with fat, causing it to heat up. This extra lubrication is typically used to balance gears with large tolerances. Most users find it dubious. In fact if I didn't use Metabo grinders I would rate this Makita a 5 and the best grinder I have ever used. But I used Metabo grinders so the score is 4.kd

Pros
  • Powerful 12.0A motor offers more power and adjustable (2800-11000) speed
Cons
  • Some bugs
