First off, Gina and Michael from Chef Tantage are as good as it gets when working with a retail company. Honesty and service are second to none. I like these boats for several reasons. The opaque shell covers the product inside and helps protect it from oxidation. Oil or vinegar can be poured either in a trickle or drop by drop by simply covering the air hole with your finger. They're big enough to hold a reasonable amount of product, but aren't huge or obtrusive. They look great on the table. The reason for this is the seal. An inner pad is very thin and may fall out. Worse, it can get stuck in the wrong position when you refill the jar without you even noticing. This leads to leakage. The instructions don't let you know how to clean and assemble these shells. They can be used successfully, but you need to take them apart and tinker with them to understand the limitations of the design. Once you know how to do it, they work very well. You're not fully protected from falls, but you're close. I like them, I will keep and use them.
