Review on COMP Cams CL42 224 4 Lifter XE274H 10 by Brett Martinez

Changing my original 5 star rating to 2 stars. This camera initially seemed great and if held up it probably would still be great. However, this did not last. The engine was a rebuilt 72.350 with 8.5:1 compression, 1-5/8 headers, Performer intake, which initially put out plenty of power throughout the rev range, good vacuum at idle. However! At revs above 4000, he had a failure, and as a result, 2 intake blades went flat. Cam was broken in with comp supplied lube, used a high zddp oil and 2 cams are still rotted in less than 500 miles. This seems to be fairly common in the Extreme Energy series as the ramp rate is very aggressive. I replaced it with a softer camera from another company and so far so good.
