First of all, the cherry stain is not what my wife or I like. Fine sandpaper and black paint easily solve this problem. As others have said, the finger holes on top are too small, just over 1/64 of an inch. The correct size is 15/64 inch, not the usual drill bit size. Maybe 1/4 inch would be ok, only 1/64 inch is too big. But having to make something you buy yourself isn't that great. The stand was centered in the holes in the base to screw the "nut". The first three aren't that bad, the last one required a bit of pressure to get it centered and then you had to hold it in place while putting the nut on.. CDs and looks pretty good.
