2000 Ranger 2wd Best of Spare Parts

2000 Ranger 2wd xlt 3.0 v6 flexfuel 2 door large cab. Truck rear shock absorbers with leaf springs at the rear and coil shock absorbers at the front. I have an anti roll bar but NO torsion bar. Even though this is for the rear, check out the front suspension: you should be able to see huge springs up front. Some rangers have a torsion bar in front; Some Rangers have an anti-roll bar and huge leaf springs in the front. They come in a REAR Ranger with springs in the front. Yes, it's weird, like someone cares about the frontend, but for some reason, it's important. Wet the nuts with a liquid wrench, then assemble other tools: 15 and 18mm wrenches. Sockets for 15 and 18 mm and ratchets. Holes in the bracket to allow you to insert the bottom screw. A cutter to cut out the blue plastic thingy that keeps the damper from expanding: but only after you've mounted it on top and have the bottom punch or screwdriver ready to cut a hole in the bracket and damper to align them and to prevent the shock from extending beyond the hole. The shock expands when you cut the plastic tabs, so don't do this until you've installed it on top. The nuts will be easier to loosen next time. eye protection! Head extensions and universal drives for angles. Minutes to remove 3 more nuts and shockproof mounted. In a driveway with no hydraulic lift, jack or anything else. It moves slowly because there are brake lines and a super fragile vaporizer thingy that you don't want to break. 50lb torque wrench on all 4 nuts. Michael Logusch
