I have hundreds and hundreds of black and white family photos from the 1900's and earlier, as well as color photos from the last 40 years. They were either laid out in the trunk or packed in Ziploc bags. The Pioneer box is great for storing 4x6 and smaller photos front to back - much like a recipe box or old card catalogue. I don't know if I got box 1100, but I filled in three boxes. Each Pioneer box comes with 6 index cards with tabs for separating groups of photos. I supplemented this with dozens of homemade cards to separate the many groups of photos by date and subject. I love that the box is so strong, no acid and no plastic. They fit well too.
