Sure it's inexpensive, but it was invaluable for locating ethernet cables in my new home as they weren't labeled. Not only did this kit work great for ethernet, but also for coax with alligator clips, which I didn't label either. I'm speaking in layman's terms because I'm sure someone who uses toner professionally would prefer a Fluke or something. The only downside was testing the cable to see if it was properly connected. I might just not know how to read this, but I haven't gotten any consistent results. I'll rely on user error as it's a good tool. Overall good value for money.
