Review on 🎧 Sony D-NE710 ATRAC3/MP3 Portable Disc Player CD Walkman by Pressure Cook

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's nice for the price.

I bought this CD player after my favorite iRiver Slim-350x died. I liked this CD player, you can read my review and see for yourself. But after much deliberation I have decided not to buy another iRiver as many have complained about the lifespan of their disc players. So I bought this disc player and am very happy with it. The player sounds good and you have limited control over the bass but not over the treble. One thing that bothers me about most portable CD players is that they have such limited audio controls. But that's not a problem because this player sounds great. I also like the menu structure and the jog dial makes it easy to navigate. I would like the display to have a backlight and tried to fix this by purchasing a Sony MD/CD remote from AudiCubes.com. I was very fortunate to learn that the remote control does not work with this disc player, so I have no way of reading the display in the dark. The display is very clear and shows all the necessary information from the id3 tag. The skip protection works great, you really have to try to force it to skip. When Sony goes "G-Protection" on something, you have to go through a chocolate milk ad before it skips. In addition, the player looks compact and not too bulky. My favorite feature is the battery life. 95 hours if you play MP3 and I believe it. I need a week of use before the power indicator goes off. The player also supports rechargeable batteries, which is great if you have an AC adapter or charger. My only criticisms are the lack of a backlight, limited audio controls, and the 1-2 second delay between changing songs/directories. All of these complaints are very minor for this great sounding and looking disc player. You won't find better for its price. Now the real question is do I like it better than my iRiver. I'd say they're almost the same, but iRiver just has so many features that it's hard not to imagine it being a little bit better. However, I'm very happy with the player I have (Sony in case you haven't been following).
